Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) 1. How does one apply for the services available?
A minimum notice of 24 hours is preferred to apply for services, prior to the appointment. A request can be made by phone or email.2. Are there any restrictions such as age, health conditions, etc.?
There are no such restrictions. We would like to know, however, about any preconditions which may be requested, for example, by a family physician, nutritionist or a relative.3. During what times are the services available?
Services are available at any time, depending on the needs of the client.4. What fees are involved, and are there any government subsidies?
We are not subsidized by the government. Currently, we charge a fee of $16.50 per hour, with a minimum of three consecutive hours. A discount may apply for a total amount of 30 or more hours per week.5. Do I have to use the services for a specific time period?
The only restriction exists in the three hour minimum as outlined in question #4.6. Will I have to reveal my medical history?
For the benefit of our client, we will take the information relevant to existing health conditions such as special dietary considerations, physical indispositions, or schedules for exercise or medication, usually as requested by a family physician.7. What qualifications do the Golden Days personnel have?
Our staff are certified in health attendance, and have many years experience in nursing and medical backgrounds. We are constantly upgrading our knowledge of elderly needs, by attending a variety of related courses and workshops.8. Will I be able to meet with my care giver before their being assigned to my needs?
All care givers are assigned by Golden Days based upon clients' needs. These needs may range from scheduling, to specific dietary requests, and even linguistic preferences. All our staff are bonded and insured. In assigning the care givers we always try to meet the individual needs of our clients.9. Are there any services that will accomodate transportation needs, i.e. assisting me with doctors' appointments, shopping excursions, etc.?
Assisting our clients in all such situations is an integral component of our services. Transportation is of course provided at the expense of the client.10. Can Golden Days personnel accomodate multiple clients simultaneously?
Yes, depending on the health condition of the people concerned. The maximum number of clients per care giver cannot exceed three persons, and will be provided with a minimum of four hours of service. The cost in such a case is $16.50 per hour for two persons, and $25.00 per hour for three persons.
